Kenya 15s head coach Paul Odera has unveiled his troops ahead of a four-Nation 2023 Rugby World Cup final qualification rounds set for Dubai from 6-18 November 2022.
In his 31-man squad are two debutants Amon Wamalwa, 22, and UK-based Joshua Weru, 19, who turns out for Northampton Saints' Senior Academy.
In Odera's squad are seven glaring changes to the 12 backs that made it to France in June 2022 for the Rugby World Cup 2023 qualifiers/Rugby Africa Cup where the team grabbed a silver in the final against Namibia. That confirmed a place in the upcoming Qatar repechage.
Davies Chenge, John Kubu, Andrew Matoka, Collins Injera, Vincent Onyala, Derrick Ashiundu, and Dominic Culson are all out due to varied reasons.
Jone Kubu and Derrick Ashihundu are reported as injured as Onyala has since been named in the Kenya 7s squad that is set to travel to Hong Kong for the opening leg of the 2022-23 World Sevens Series set for 4-6 Nov 2022.
The absence of the seven gifts Ian Masheti, Timothy Omela, Samson Onsomu, Beldad Ogeta, Peter Kilonzo, Amon Wamalwa, and Geoffrey Ominde a place in the squad.
The team is expected to jet out on Tue 1 Nov, and is set to return on the 20th of the same month.
The Final Qualification Tournament for Rugby World Cup 2023 will take place at The Sevens Stadium in Dubai from 6-18 November 2022. The tournament will be played in a round-robin format over three match days (6, 12, and 18 November) at The Sevens Stadium.

Kenya Simbas will play the USA on the first match day then Portugal and Hong Kong on match days two and three.
The winner of the repechage will be the 20th and final team to qualify for the 2023 Rugby World Cup tournament proper set for 8 September – 28 October 2023 in France.
The qualified team from the Qatar repechage will join pool C which includes Wales, Australia, Fiji, and Georgia.
