KCB II successfully defended the Eric Shirely Shield by beating Homeboyz II 11-5 in the final on Saturday May 18, 2019 at KCB Sports Club.

The Cubs also did it in style as they are the only unbeaten side this season as well as not drawing any match. Nationwide sides Northern Suburbs, Jaramogi Uni and Shamas were the only other sides to go unbeaten in the KRU leagues.

The whole season saw KCB II win all 16 matches in the regular league before beating Impala Boks 32-19 in last weekend’s semifinals and eventually making the young Deejays dance to their tune.

KCB II led 6-0 through Stephen Osumba’s penalties before George Maranga scored the try that eventually proved the difference with Jan Ramke going over for Homeboyz’s only score.

In 2018’s ESS final, KCB II beat Impala Boks 22-17 in the final at USIU.
