Uganda name Sevens World Cup squad

Head Coach Tolbert Onyango on Friday named the 12-man squad to represent Uganda at the Rugby Sevens World Cup in Cape Town, South Africa between 9th and 11th September 2022 with six players set to make a second appearance. 

Former Kabras Sugar star Philip Wokorach, captain Michael Wokorach, Adrian Kasito, Timothy Kisiga and Desire Ayega will be making a return to the global stage for the second time after playing in San Francisco in 2018.

Uganda, who qualified as Africa 7s champions, will play Samoa in their opening game with the winner set to take on USA in the round of 16. 

Uganda squad: Michael Wokorach (captain), Ian Munyani (vice-captain), Desire Ayera, Aaron Ofoywroth, Adrian Kasito, Timothy Kisiga, Philip Wokorach, Alex Aturinda, Ivan Otema, Karim Arinaitwe, Nobert Okeny, William Nkore.
