Tunisia second-row Saif Bousaada says they are ready for Kenyan challenge ahead of the Africa Gold Cup on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at RFUEA grounds.

The England-based lock will be playing his first game in East and Southern African Africa region as he says attitude will be a big factor to the outcome of the game.

“I have played 42 games in the English league so I am a bit experienced but when I came here(Africa) the weather was not good for me although I managed to adapt because basically, I am from Africa.  It’s my first time to play in South African countries, I feel a bit pressured but I will adapt to it.”

Bousaada will pair Nacer Mili as Tunisians look to bag their first win in Africa Cup 1A after gaining promotion in 2016.

“I have never played against Kenya due to my injury but I know Kenya has a very strong team especially at home but we are not afraid of them and I can play against anyone in the world.”

Tunisia held a captain’s run on Friday afternoon at RFUEA grounds which left some of the players complaining about the state of the pitch as compared to what they are used to.

“The pitch will make the game a bit harder because like now I feel my toes really hitching but when we play the game we forget about everything, we play hard and we never give up until the whistle.  I think attitude will also affect us a little bit but we will have to adapt to it,” added Bousaada.

Tunisia captain and flyhalf Ben Aycha Sofiene says their aim is to remain in Africa 1A to stand a chance to take part in next year’s World Cup qualifiers.

“It doesn’t matter if we lost the first match(against Namibia) our plan is not to win the Africa Cup because we are trying to build this group together and our point is staying in Africa 1A”

“So we must win against Zimbabwe and Senegal because we believe we are at the same level. We must win our last two games, Kenya, Uganda and Namibia is in preparation for the last two games,” concluded Sofiene.

The match will be curtain-raised by a schools clash between Ofafa Jericho and Strathmore School at 1pm.
