1. Uganda win Africa 7s
Hosts Uganda put a spectacular performance across the weekend to win the Rugby Africa Sevens beating Zimbabwe 28-0 in the final to seal a place in the World Cup and Commonwealth games. The Cranes went unbeaten recording 22-12 win over Kenya in semis, 51-0 over Burkina Faso, 71-0 over Uganda, 29-0 over Tunisia and 40-7 over Zambia.
2. Kenya 7s qualify for the Sevens World Cup
Despite not reaching the Africa 7s final on Sunday in Kampala, Uganda, Kenya Sevens ensured they qualify for a seventh sevens world cup after finishing third courtesy of a 19-12 win over Zambia in the bronze final. Zambia however qualified for the Commonwealth games.
3. Daystar Falcons win the Nationwide
University side Daystar Falcons concluded a perfect season by winning the Nationwide league on Saturday with a 30-13 win over Zetech Rugby in Nairobi. Both Daystar and Zetech will be promoted to the Championship next season to replace Northern Suburbs and Egerton Wasps.
4. Zimbabwe Goshawks down Kenya Simbas
It wasn't a good weekend for the Kenyan teams as the national 15s side, Kenya Simbas, went down 22-21 to Zimbabwe Goshawks in their second Currie Cup first division match in South Africa.
5. Jamaica, Canada qualify for the Sevens World Cup
American region also hosted the regional sevens tournaments with Canada carrying the day by beating Jamaica 29-12 in Bahamas. Both Canada and Jamaica will represent the region in Cape Town this September.
