Menengai Oilers kick-off the 2021 Kenya Cup against Kenya Harlequin on Saturday, Feb 27 with Christine Shitundo leading the Nakuru based side.

Head Coach Gibson Weru named matchday 23 after Thursday’s training in Nakuru with Geoffrey Ominde starting at fly-half, Kevin Mburu at scrum-half and Davis Nyaundi at fullback.

Wingers Beldad Ogeta and Timothy Okwemba as well as midfielders Austin Sikutwa and Emman Okwako complete the backline.

The eight-team Kenya Cup kicks-off without Nondies, Mwamba, Homeboyz and Impala who pulled out of the tournament due to different reasons.

After losing 29-10 to Kabras in the Sisimka Charity Cup last week at Nyayo Stadium, Kenya Harlequin make several changes as they seek to start the new season on a high.

Winger Pius Shiundu, Kenyan international James McGreevy and Dennis Ambitho are the backline changes replacing Mark Wandetto, Leroy Kamau and Dennis Muhanji respectively.

Evin Asena, who joined from Homeboyz, will make his Kenya Cup debut for Quins at fly-half while prop Brian Obwaya, lock Roxy Dan Suchi, flanker Hillary Baraza, Brighton Mwalawa and Mark Mongo replace Melvin Thairu, K’Opondo, Edward Shitanda and Joshua Chisanga respectively.

Other Kenya Cup matches will see KCB host Strathmore Leos, MMUST cross over to Kabras and Top Fry Nakuru host Blak Blad.
