Second string KCB shock Series core side, reach Safari 7s quarters

National sevens circuit champions KCB have had a good start at Safari 7s winning two matches on Saturday at RFUEA Grounds.

KCB beat HSBC World Sevens series core side Spain 24-7 in the opening match. Their second match was a 19-12 win over Zimbabwe.

KCB are now in cup quarters ahead of their last pool match against Seventise at 4.10pm.

The bankers are missing key first team players who are representing either Kenya Morans or Shujaa. Andrew Amonde, Mickey Wanjala, Jacob Ojee, Vincent Onyala, Johnstone Olindi and Geoffrey Okwach are playing for the national sides.

Other sides to have reached cup quarters with a game to go are Blitzboks and Kenya Shujaa.
