Kenya could ultimately drop a place to finish the HSBC Sevens Series placed eighth after going down 19-12 to Argentina in the Challenge Cup Trophy quarters on Sunday morning.

Heading to Paris 7s Kenya had amassed a record 101 points to sit seventh with four points on eighth placed Argentina.

But with the Challenge quarters loss, Kenya can pick a maximum three points in the 13th place contest as Argentina goes for the eight on offer at the challenge Trophy final.

In the latest game Kenya led Argentina 12-7 at half time with tries from Andrew Amonde and Brian Tanga - that he converted. In between Dominguez secured a try for Argentina that was duly converted by Gaston Revolution.

Two more tries by Rosa's Paz and Gonzalez and conversion by Bazan Velez brought Kenya to its knees. Willy Ambaka then Eric Ombasa received yellow cards at different times in the second half.
