The 2015 Prescott Cup final, to be played at the St. Mary’s School on Saturday 27 June will be contested by two-time Champions Alliance High School and Upper Hill School.

A second half try by lock Vincent Wafula saw Alliance keep their Prescott Cup hopes alive after overhauling visiting Strathmore School 10-3.

Piling pressure

The hosts secured an early lead going up 3-0 in the tenth minute courtesy of a Jabir Lunalo penalty. Strathmore's response was almost immediate when Michael Omolo restored their parity with a penalty in the 15th minute.

Tough play from both the two sides was however not enough for any team to acquire a half time lead. They would then head into the break with 3 points a piece. In the second half, Alliance camped in the visitors half piling pressure on them but were unable to find any opening.

Shortly afterwards, Vincent Wafula would then score the match winner for Alliance with Jabir Lunalo on target once again but this time with a conversion to cement their lead at 10-3. Alliance were taking nothing to chance as a hard fighting Strathmore hurled at them with powerful shots but at the end of the match it was the hosts who emerged victorious and moved a step closer to clinching the tittle they last won in 2013.

This win would also serve as a bitter sweet revenge for Strathmore who denied Alliance the bronze in 2014 winning 20-19. Alliance head coach John Karimi however applauded his side for staging a good performance against a well-oiled Strathmore despite failing to capitalise on the many chances they got.

Upper Hill was first in the final after a 21-12 defeat over record eight-time winners Rift Valley Academy (RVA) on Wednesday.
