There are up to three changes from the Kenya Simbas squad that drew with Uganda to the team to play Tunisia in their second match of Africa Gold Cup on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at RFUEA grounds from 4pm.
Second rows, skipper Wilson Kopondo and Kabras Sugar’s George Nyambua, who captained Kabras in the better part of the Kenya Cup season, are handed a start in place of Simon Muniafu and Oliver Mangeni.
Muniafu concussed against Uganda as Kopondo returns after a rib dislocation in the defeat to Germany.
Another change sees Impala Saracens center Leo Seje receive a start from Jerome Paarwater, coming in for Kenya Harlequin’s Patrice Agunda.
Kenya Harlequins’ scrum-half Lyle Asiligwa has been recalled to the team after being dropped in April and is set to replace his Impala Saracens opposite Samson Onsomu who has started every match in 2017 and scoring two tries.
KCB prop Oscar Simiyu also returns to the bench after playing against Germany and missing the Uganda game.
Kenya and Tunisia met in 2015 in Africa Cup 1A with Simbas winning 46-15 with Saturday’s meeting coming as Kenya sit fourth with two points while Tunisia is sixth with no point.
As Kenya drew 33-33 with Uganda, Tunisia fell 53-7 to Namibia in their opening match. They will return to action on July 15 where all teams will be in action as Kenya hosts Senegal, Tunisia visits Uganda and Namibia hosts Zimbabwe.
French referee Tual Trainini will officiate the clash with assistance from Zimbabwean duo of Precious Pazani and Julian Mundawarara.
Another match of the day will see Namibia play Senegal in Windhoek.
