Nationwide side South Coast Pirates has appointed KCB fly half Kenny Andola as its new head Coach.
Andola who until recently was at Strathmore Leos before crossing over to the Lion’s Den takes over from David Nolan who guided the team to the Coast Nationwide title last season before relocating to Tanzania on work related issues.

Though Andola will be based in Nairobi, as the club states, Andola will be able to put in atleast 10 days a month at the club upon officially starting off in November.
“I am extremely humbled at this wonderful gesture and opportunity to be part of the Pirates family. The journey is really interesting regarding the potential that the Club has and for the entire South Coast, and Coast in general,”
“The challenge is great and I look forward to it. Of great essence will be to have a great club culture with a good feeder system throughout the region that taps the best talents through a set pathway. That will be our bare minimum on the road to a championship side, said Andola
Very warm welcome
George Barbour, the Pirates chairman said "The appointment of Kenny Andola is a massive step forward for the Club and we all need to give the new coaching staff and current players all the support we can muster for a very bright and successful new season. His appointment follows a very successful one day coaching session with UR7’s which saw 30 players turn out on the beach. The management, supporters and players give a very warm welcome to Kenny”
Andola has his work cut out, as the Pirates will hope to do better this season and chase a place in the Kenya Cup.
At the end of last season, and after winning the Coast regional title, the team made it to the National quarterfinal only to lose narrowly, 5-0, to Bungoma Sharks who went all the way to book a place in the top flight for the 2015/16 season.
