Menengai Oilers win Embu 7s

Kenya Cup side Menengai Oilers carried the day in Embu as they won the fourth edition of Embu 7s beating rivals Top Fry Nakuru 14-12 in the Cup final on Sunday July 7.

Oilers had beaten Nondies 10-7 in the Cup semis and Strathmore Leos 17-14 in cup quarters to make their way to the final. For Top Fry Nakuru, they saw off Stanbic Mwamba 14-5 in semis and Mean Machine 15-5 in quarters.

Mwamba beat Nondies 36-0 to finish third, Northern Suburbs saw off Strathmore Los 17-10 to claim plate, Wakanda Makueni claimed challenge trophy with a 26-0 win over Mask while hosts Embu RFC won the Shield after beating Chuka Vikings 24-0.

All teams now focus to the national sevens circuit that kicks-off on July 20, 2019 with the inaugural Kakamega 7s hosted by Kabras Sugar and Western Bulls.
