Kenya Simbas are unchanged for their clash with Namibia in the Africa Gold Cup on Saturday July 29, 2017 in Windhoek.
KCB lock Oliver Mang’eni was expected to link up with the Simbas but couldn't make it due to work commitments. Impala's Simon Muniafu will pair skipper Wilson Kopondo at lock with Kabras Sugar's George Nyambua starting from the bench.
Samson Onsomu, Davies Chenge, Wilson K'opondo, Martin Owila and Moses Amusala scored for Kenya in the 41-22 win over Zimbabwe and start in their respective positions as Simbas look to finish on a high.
Speaking to KRU Media in Windhoek on Friday morning, Head Coach Jerome Paarwater said, ” It’s our last game tomorrow against Namibia, it is like a final. It’s going to be a tough game and we will approach it like a final. We don’t have a great record in Namibia and want to put up a good performance this time.”
To win the Cup, the Simbas must win the game without Namibia scoring a losing bonus point or win the game with a try bonus point even if Namibia scores a losing bonus point.
Namibia will on their side retain the cup with a win, draw or lose with a losing bonus point if Kenya doesn’t score a try bonus point.
Kenya goes into the match sitting second with 16 points after three wins and one draw while Namibia lead with 20 points after four wins.
