Kenya 7s are set to unveil new Kenya 7s coach Paul Feeney on Friday Sep, 20 at RFUEA Grounds at 9am.

A press conference will be held on Friday at Quins to open a page for Kenya 7s.

Feeney is a former coach at Fiji 7s and Western Province in South Africa.

He has been in the Country since Christie 7s and attended Driftwood 7s as well as visiting a number of Kenya Cup clubs as Raga House understands.

Feeney, a World Rugby Level 3 coach, will officially replace Paul Murunga on Friday after the former served only one season.

Before Pau, Innocent ‘Namcos’ Simiyu took charge of the team for two seasons after he replaced Benjamin Ayimba who left the team after 2016 Olympics.

Assistant Coach Kevin Wambua, who is currently handling the team, is set to retain his position, subject to KRU confirmation on Friday.

Feeney’s first assignment will be Safari 7s followed by Tokyo 2020 Olympics qualifiers set for November and HSBC World Sevens Series kick-off in December.

KRU will also use the press conference to give an update on the 2019 Safari 7s tournament set for October 18 and 20.
