Kenya Rugby Union on Friday suspended the 2021 Kenya Cup until further notice after President Uhuru Kenyatta suspended all sporting activities in the Country.
President Kenyatta also suspended movement in and out of Nairobi, Kiambu, Kajiado, Machakos and Nakuru counties. Kabras Sugar and MMUST are based in Kakamega County while Top Fry Nakuru and Menengai Oilers reside in Nakuru County.
“Following the presidential directive putting a halt to all sporting activity as part of a wider COVID 19 mitigation strategy, the Kenya Rugby Union hereby suspends the Kenya Cup until further notice,” said KRU.
“We regret any inconvenience caused to all our stakeholders, notably clubs, players, fans and our broadcast partner, Mediamax.”
Kenya Cup was set to enter matchday V on Saturday, March 26, 2021.
