Kenya Sevens will be looking to resume training anytime from Monday July 10, 2017 for pre-season ahead of 2017/2018 HSBC World Sevens Series.

KRU director of national squads and elite performance Ian Mugambi says they are currently finalizing on player and management contracts before training starts.

The Rugby Union is also finalizing on filling the Strength and Conditioning coach vacancy that was left by Ian Gibbons earlier in the year.

“We are sorting contracts of players and management then fill vacant positions to have a smooth running,” said Mugambi.

The national sevens team kicks-off 2017/2018 campaign on Friday December 1, 2017 with Dubai 7s. This will be 25 days after hosting Safari 7s which is set to be graced by some teams participating in sevens series as part of their preparations.

Apart from the 10 legs, the coming season will have Commonwealth games in April while Sevens World Cup is set for July 20 in the USA.
