Kenya 7s: Buffa returns for Hamilton, Sydney 7s

Kenya 7s head coach Damian McGrath on Wednesday named the Shujaa squad that will compete in the third and fourth legs of the 2023 HSBC World Sevens Series, Hamilton and Sydney 7s from January 22 in New Zealand and Australia respectively.

Alvin Buffa Otieno returns to the squad after a brief stint in Canada while Brian Tanga is back in the squad for the first time since 2018.

Floyd Wabwire of Daystar University and John Okoth of Menengai Oilers are set to make their debut. Daniel Taabu is out on a personal issue while Billy Odhiambo will seat out after concussing for the second time in six months and set to see a neurosurgeon according to McGrath.

Kenya will play Fiji, Samoa and France in pool A as hosts New Zealand make up pool B with the Great Britain, Australia and Tonga. USA, Uruguay, Ireland and Japan are in pool C as South Africa join Argentina, Spain and Canada in pool D.
