Kabras Sugar fly-half Jone Kubu on Monday received a warning from Saturday's Citing commissioner for dangerous play by striking with knee, contrary to Law 9.12.
Kabras beat Quins 29-10 to win the inaugural Sisimka Charity Cup with Kubu putting a man of the match performance.
The Fijian is accused of striking Kenya Harlequin's Xavier Kipngetich with a knee. The report read:
"The alleged foul play occurred when Kabras 10(Kubu) tackled Quins 9 (Xavier) when standing up he is seen on video evidence to drive his knee towards QUins' scrumhalf resulting in contact with the head.
The alleged foul play was not detected by the match officials.
I initially considered full citing since there was an alleged contact of the knee with the head. However, on review of available video evidence (one angle), I find that the incident whilst dangerous did not meet the red card threshold due to the level of force that is observed on video was inadequate to qualify the incident for full citing.
A video clip is available to support the allegation of foul play. As a result, I issue a citing commissioner warning to Kabras (10) for dangerous play by striking with knee, contrary to Law 9.12."
Charles Mbogo was the Citing Commisioner.
