Injera set for first Safari 7s since 2012

World Sevens Series great Collins Injera is set to play his first Safari 7s this weekend at RFUEA Grounds for the first time since 2012.

Injera was on Wednesday named in the Kenya 7s Shujaa squad to play at the 23rd edition of Safari 7s on Saturday(October 19) and Sunday.

The World Sevens Series all time second top try scorer missed last season but is back to the team alongside other senior players. Andrew Amonde will captain Shujaa with Willy Ambaka, Bush Mwale, Brian Wandera, Charles Omondi, Mickey Wanjala, Daniel Taabu, Oscar Dennis, Nelson Oyoo, Mike Okello and Jacob Ojee making the squad.

Homeboyz's Jeff Oluoch will captain Kenya Morans that has Alvin 'Buffa' Otieno, Vincent Onyala, Timothy Mmasi, Dan Sikuta and Ian Mabwa among others.

Kenya 7s will be looking to reclaim the Safari 7s title from 2018 champions Samurai International as they prepare for the 2020 HSBC World Sevens Series that kicks-off in December with Dubai 7s.

Safari 7s will kick-off with Age Grade tournament on Friday before moving to the main action on Saturday and Sunday.

Shujaa are in Pool C with Blue Bulls, Russia Academy and Zambia while Morans are in Pool A with South Africa, Uganda and Burundi.
