The date for the 33rd edition of the annual Blackrock Festival, hosted by St. Mary’s School Nairobi, is now confirmed.
The tournament, first held in 1983 off an initiative by the then Head Master Father Cormac O’Brachlain will be held in its traditional date of Saturday 23rd May 2015 and is expected to run from 9.00am to 5.00pm.
The tournament will be played after three rounds into the Prescott Cup, Damu Pevu and Damu Changa games.
A record number is expected to participate in this year’s event, as was the case last year where 42 teams across East Africa, but largely from Kenya, lined up for the festival.
The Rift Valley Academy (RVA) are the defending Champions having turned the tables on Maseno School 12-0 in last year’s final to win the title for the seventh time, the first since year 2007. In 2013, Maseno School had beaten RVA 10-05 to lift the title.
