Algeria and Zambia qualified for the final of the Africa Silver Cup set for 25 August at a venue to be confirmed after winning the final set of pool games on Saturday 14 July 2018.
Algeria beat Ivory Coast 23-13 in Toulouse, France as Zambia had a 31-29 escape over Madagascar in Mufulira, Zambia, results that kept both top of their respective pools which sent them through to the August decider. The winner of that one-off will be elevated to the Africa Gold Cup in 2019.

In the opening games last Sunday, Zambia beat Botswana 32-13 as Algeria shocked Senegal 22-18.
In the next set of games on Wednesday Ivory Coast handed Senegal a 25-21 defeat in France as Madagascar saw off Botswana 64-18 in Zambia to stay on course ahead of the final round of games on Sunday. Ivory Coast and Madagascar led 13-7 and 33-13 at half time, respectively.
The mid-week results marked the end of the road for both Senegal and Botswana.
